'I Am Wrath' (2016) - Film Review

“It took me some part of the film to get over the shock of John Travolta’s new face in I am wrath (15) but once adjusted I could get on with what I came to do.”

Old favourite Travolta, as Stanley Hill, an ex-military engineer, teams up with Dennis (Christopher Meloni). With a shocking depiction of violence and crime from the off that hits home hard and punches with awe, it invoke the depths in the level of ruthless crime attributed to the criminals Hill is up against. Granted, Travolta’s acting skills are a little off, though I think we can blame the editing department for the inclusion of the obvious unsure camera look. There’s some shockingly implausible accountability in places – who has a shooting range underneath their barber shop and gets away with it – but, it has likeable characters, even the bad guys – go figure.

Avenging the seemingly unprovoked death of his truthful and politically entangled wife, witnessed by Stanley himself; insinuation in is it, isn’t it of his ex-army compatriot Dennis’ involvement over a mentioned misdemeanor is obvious. Clearly it proves unfruitful, and together they join company once more and pack gauges into the targeted bodies of the underground drug and criminal world and political masses running the city - all of which unveils some satisfyingly unexpected surprises.
